As we approached the carnival season, the Newcastle Pools team dedicated significant time behind the scenes to preparation and professional development, ensuring our facilities remained safe, responsive and ready for increased visitations.
Lifeguards and Duty Managers participated in training sessions, reviewing emergency management, rescue scenarios and response protocols. These refreshers provided valuable opportunities to improve skills, reinforce communication processes and strengthen team coordination in high pressure situations. From major incident response planning to supervision strategies during peak periods, the focus remained firmly on proactive risk management and continuous improvement.
