What’s On at Newcastle Pools

What’s On at Newcastle Pools cover

Our pools have been buzzing with activity, bringing people together of all ages to connect, move, and make a splash. Here is a look at what has been happening lately.

Lambton: Fun, Friendly Water Polo for Women

At Lambton Pool, FUNFIT Water Polo is making waves. Created by the pool’s own Customer Service Officer, Megan Sutherland, this program is designed for women who are either brand new to water polo or returning after a break. With a focus on relaxed, non-contact sessions, the emphasis is on learning skills, building confidence, and most importantly, having fun.

From 20 to 75 years young, participants are supported to challenge themselves at their own pace, with injury friendly alternatives so no one misses out. It is a great way to boost endurance and cardiovascular fitness while enjoying a welcoming, supportive environment. Fun, friendly, and fabulous, FUNFIT really embodies the spirit of community at Lambton Pool.

Mayfield: Junior Lifesaving Skills in Action

Over at Mayfield Pool, safety meets play. In December, the pool partnered with Royal Life Saving Australia to run a Junior Lifesaving Program for local school students. Through a mix of practical drills and interactive games, students built confidence in the water while learning essential lifesaving and rescue skills.

The program highlighted water safety in a fun, engaging way, helping young people understand how to stay safe in and around aquatic environments. It is education, exercise, and empowerment rolled into one and a great example of how pools can be more than just places to swim.

Beresfield and Wallsend: Celebrating Schools and Students

Our smaller sites at Beresfield and Wallsend have been buzzing with school activities, from swimming lessons and carnivals to end of year celebrations. These programs not only help students develop skills and confidence in the water but also strengthen connections between the pools, local schools, and families.

Our teams have loved creating welcoming, well organised environments where everyone feels supported, turning each lesson and carnival into a mini community celebration. The excitement these events bring shows just how much energy and life schools bring to our pools year round.

Stockton: A Splashing Success for Council Picnic Day

Stockton Pool recently hosted Council Picnic Day, welcoming over 260 participants for a day of fun in the sun. The pool inflatable was a major hit, bringing laughter, joy, and plenty of energy to families and colleagues alike.

Events like these showcase Stockton Pool as more than a facility. They are a community hub where people can relax, connect, and make memories together. It is exactly the kind of vibrant atmosphere we love to see!

Whether you are diving in for fitness, fun, or learning new skills, we offer something for everyone. From water polo to lifesaving, school programs to family fun days, there is a place for you to connect with your community, try something new, and make a splash.
