We’re approaching the end of another sensational summer season at Newcastle Pools.
As the warmer months draw to a close so do our Mayfield, Stockton and Wallsend Swimming Pools.
It’s been a summer (or two!) of ups and downs .for our customers and staff, with lockdowns, restrictions, and isolations playing havoc with our operations.
We would like to thank you, our customers, for your unwavering support of our local team as we navigated the changing landscapes of Delta and Omicron together.
We also applaud the efforts of our dedicated team, led by Candice and Hannah, and thank them for their resilience and commitment to keeping the pools open in the face of unprecedented staff shortages.
Despite the challenges, the last 12 months have delivered incredible community success, demonstrating that it takes more than a global pandemic to keep the Newcastle community down! From locals representing our country in the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo and the Cliff Diving World Series in Italy to hundreds of kids competing in carnivals in our very own pools. We couldn’t be more proud!
So, as we head into Easter and the winter closures at Mayfield, Stockton and Wallsend, we are grateful for the tight-knit community we are proud to be a part of. The three pools will close for the season at 6pm on the 24th of April, reopening at the end of September this year. Lambton will remain open until Sunday, 22 May.
We wish you all a great Easter break, thank you for a great season, we look forward to seeing you later in the year!
